Community Conversations: Studio Sandra

Welcome to Community Conversations: Studio Sandra! Jim Shaffer sits down to talk with Sandra, owner of Studio Sandra, about her experiences being shut down due to quarantine and how she has rebounded.

Studio Sandra is a women’s boutique known for a personalized shopping experience and specializing in USA made clothing.

Sandra is a veteran of the Royal Oak boutique scene, starting as a manager and buyer at Lotus Import Co., a well-loved store on Washington Ave. that was a downtown Royal Oak mainstay for decades. In the wake of COVID-19, Sandra has had to close her storefront and pivot to driving sales through virtual videos she uploads to both Instagram and Facebook, personal shopping through texting, and curbside pick-up. While business is certainly not what it would usually be this time of year, the new services are keeping Sandra busy and she’s grateful for that little bit of normalcy.

Sandra reminds us that local business work hard to find a way to serve their communities. And in turn, if you try hard enough you can find everything you need to from a local business. Sandra takes pride in the personal service she provides to the community – she has her customers in mind when curating her collection and even allows customers to try on items at home before purchasing.
